The Beginning

In 2003, my teenage sister and best friend was diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer. In the months that led to her battle with cancer ending in a draw, I was right by her side, walking that dark, courageous path with her.

I’d like to think that she didn’t lose to cancer but came out an equal victor because the pain and grief that I still on occasion feel with a crippling intensity birthed the “I am bigger than cancer” mentality. All of which have defined my mission and become the rhythm of my profession.

I built my life’s work from a place of pain, heartbreak, purpose, recovery and divine leading.

My mission

To build a safe space for people affected by cancer and be remembered as the oncologist who illuminated the dark paths to cancer recovery.

My purpose

To inspire you to be who you are born to be.

“Dr. Salako gave me my first professional opportunity as a machine learning research intern in 2021/2022 at Oncopadi Technology, a cancer clinic initiative she founded. Working on the initial stages of the Prose Care application under her guidance was transformative. Her insights into building solutions were astounding, and our time together helped me understand people, build relationships, and grasp the essence of creating technology for societal impact. She sparked my interest in healthcare and environmental applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. This experience was foundational in shaping my understanding of a high-functioning workplace.
